Your privacy matters. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect and why.
This Privacy Policy describes how 7 Minute Books (“we”, “us”, a LinkedByte project) collects, uses, and protects information when you use app.7minutebooks.com (the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly — such as your email address and account details when you sign up, subscribe, or contact us. We collect limited technical data automatically (device and browser type, approximate location, and how you use the Service, such as which summaries you read or play). When you subscribe, our payment processor Stripe handles your card details and creates a customer record; we receive a customer reference and subscription status, but we never see or store your full card number.
2. How we use information
We use your information to operate the Service, provide and renew your subscription, unlock premium content for active members, respond to your requests, send essential account and billing notices, and improve our content. With your consent where required, we may send occasional updates about new features and titles.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the providers who help us run the Service — including Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery, and audio streaming), and our email and infrastructure providers — under confidentiality obligations and only as needed. The in-reader translation feature uses Google Translate; if you use it, the summary text you translate is sent to Google. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our users and the Service.
4. Cookies & local storage
We use cookies to keep you signed in and secure your session. Your reading preferences and saved library are stored locally in your browser (local storage), not on our servers unless tied to your account. You can control cookies through your browser, though some features won’t work without them.
5. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When it’s no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
6. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage your billing details in the account portal, or exercise other rights (including closing your account) by emailing [email protected].
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and payment data is handled by Stripe under PCI-DSS standards. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
9. International users
We operate from the United States, and your information may be processed there or wherever our service providers operate. We take steps to keep it protected wherever it’s handled.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; we’ll revise the “last updated” date above and highlight significant changes where appropriate.
