By accessing or using app.7minutebooks.com and related services (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. The Service
7 Minute Books provides original written and narrated summaries of published books, created for educational and informational purposes. Our summaries are independent works of commentary and analysis. They are not endorsed by, affiliated with, or sponsored by the original authors or publishers, and are not a substitute for the original books.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use the Service. You’re responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your login secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. Subscriptions & the free trial
Premium access is sold as a subscription — currently $2.99/month or $9.99/year — or as a one-time $19.99 lifetime purchase. New subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. Your chosen plan, price, and trial are shown at checkout before you confirm.
4. Billing & auto-renewal
Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. If you start a trial, you won’t be charged until the trial ends, at which point your plan begins and your payment method is charged automatically. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The lifetime plan is a single payment with no recurring charge.
5. Cancellation & refunds
You can cancel anytime from your account page, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of your current paid period; you keep access until then. If you cancel before your free trial ends, you will not be charged. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable once charged, and the lifetime purchase is non-refundable. We don’t provide refunds or credits for partial periods or unused access.
6. Acceptable use
Your membership is for your own personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to copy, download (beyond normal playback), redistribute, resell, publicly perform, scrape, mine, or build derivative or competing products from our content; not to share your account or circumvent the paywall, copy-protection, or other security; and not to use automated systems that burden our infrastructure.
7. Intellectual property
All summaries, audio, artwork, branding, software, and design on the Service are owned by 7 Minute Books / LinkedByte or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Book titles, author names, and cover references remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary only.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties — including Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery, and audio streaming), and Google Translate (optional in-app translation, which sends the summary text you choose to translate to Google). Your use of those features is also governed by their respective terms and policies.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Summaries are condensed interpretations and may simplify or omit material from the original works. We make no warranty that the Service will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or error-free, and we disclaim all implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 7 Minute Books and LinkedByte will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Changes & termination
We may update these terms or our pricing from time to time; we’ll revise the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, give notice where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them. We may suspend or end access if these terms are violated.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York for any dispute.
